How we sort results
This page explains how the order of listings in search is set and what role paid highlights play.
Standard order
Unless you choose a sort option, the standard order applies. Dealer listings highlighted for a fee come first. Listings then follow in order of when they were listed, newest first.
Highlighted listings
Dealers can highlight individual listings for a fee for 30 days. These listings are labelled “Highlighted · Ad” everywhere. A highlight guarantees neither reach nor a particular position. Private sellers cannot highlight listings.
Your own sort order
If you choose a sort option, only that order applies and paid highlights play no part. “Newly listed” shows the newest listings first. “Best match” with a search term shows listings whose title exactly matches the term first, then titles that start with it, then all other results; without a search term, the newest come first. “Item price: lowest first” and “Item price: highest first” order by item price without delivery. “Price including delivery: lowest first” and “Price including delivery: highest first” order by item price plus the delivery cost shown. “Nearest first” shows the closest listings first; listings without a known distance come last. “Listing ending soonest” orders by end time; listings without an end time come last. “Most viewed” orders by number of views. When values are equal, the newer listing comes first.
Search terms and filters
Your search terms, vehicle fitment and selected filters determine which listings appear. Filters always apply. Paid highlights only apply to the standard order, never to filters or other sort options.
Advertising outside this marketplace
Ads that dealers run on other platforms such as Google have no effect on the order of results here.
